Jordan will not go back to a total lockdown but instead the government has adopted new isolation policies following the recent rise in the number of local coronavirus cases, the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, told Roya on Wednesday.

The new isolation policies include isolating certain neighborhoods or areas where COVID-19 cases are being reported, Jaber added.

As for the COVID-19 situation in Karak, Jaber said it is good and there is nothing to worry about. However, people should adhere to all health and safety measures such as social distancing and wearing masks.

In addition, Jaber said the Ministry of Education is not willing to close any school unless there is a coronavirus case reported in the school.

Jordan has recorded 78 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 77 of which are local cases.
