The Anti-Cybercrime Unit in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has warned Jordanians about cases where their WhatsApp accounts are being hacked as a result of stealing someone's WhatsApp security code or by opening suspicious links.
These kinds of cases include: identity theft, fraud, money related crimes and other electronic crimes.
However, the Anti-Cybercrime Unit called on all citizens to secure their WhatsApp accounts through linking it to a code number and an active email address.
In addition, people should not share their private information such as, passwords or codes with anyone and not to open any suspicious links on the internet.
