The Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, was pictured without wearing a facemask or abiding by social distancing guidelines while visiting Al-Bashir Hospitals on Sunday.
Videos and pictures of Jaber and his team showed a lack of commitment to health and safety measures amid coronavirus crisis.
The photographs caused outrage among Jordanians across social media platforms.
Jordanians expressed their shock and asked why the minister was not violating instructions issued by the National Centre for Crisis Management, which the Ministry of Health reiterates the need to abide by on a daily basis.
Failure to wear a facemask in Jordan is a violation punishable by law, according to Defense Order number 11, which was activated weeks ago to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
