Five deaths, 596 COVID-19 cases in Palestine

Palestine has recorded 596 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths over the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Health Minister, Mai al-Kaila, on Thursday.

The deaths reported included an 76-year-old man and 75-year-old woman in Hebron, 70-year-old man in Qalqilya, a 76-year-old woman in Jerusalem and a 64-year-old in Ramallah and al-Bireh, al-Kaila added.

The new coronavirus cases included: 224 in Hebron, 26 in Nablus, 61 in Bethlehem, 43 in Qalqilya, 61 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, seven in Jenin, 14 in Jericho and al-Aghwar, four in Salfit, four in Tubas, 98 in Gaza Strip and 54 in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

A total of 612 recovery cases were recorded in Palestine, including: 119 in Hebron, 36 in Qalqilya, 157 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 79 in Nablus, four in Jenin one in Salfit and 216 in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

The recovery rate stands at 67.9%, while the active cases rate is 31.5%, and the death rate is 0.6%.

Currently, 33 cases are in the Intensive Care Unit and five are on ventilators.
