Jordanian government paves the way for airport reopening

The government is paving to reopen airports in Jordan in the middle of September, according to the National Centre for Crisis Management.

An official document by the National Centre for Crisis Management was circulated on social media which showed the new standards for arriving travellers from abroad to Jordan.

All travellers must undergo a COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to departure and all arrivals in Jordan will be tested at the airport.

The document included classifying countries into three categories which are red, yellow and green - depending on the scale of the COVID-19 outbreak.

People who arrive from countries which are on the red list, will be sent to institutional-quarantine for a period of eight days and then to home-quarantine for another seven days.

In addition, people who arrtive from countries classified as yellow will be sent to institutional-quarantine for a period of four days and then to home-quarantine for another seven days.

However, people who arrive from countries that are classified as green will not be sent to institutional-quarantine but they will be only sent to home-quarantine for seven days.
