A strong and long heatwave coming from the Arabian Peninsula is scheduled to hit Jordan, on Saturday.

A significant rise in temperatures will occur on Saturday, approximately by five to seven degrees Celsius compared to usual temperatures during this time of year.

The weather will generally be hot and dry in most regions, however, there will be a significant rise in temperatures in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Aqaba, and desert regions.

Arabia Weather has issued the following advice:

• Avoid being exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
• Drink lots of water and cold beverages throughout the day.
• Avoid all outdoor activity during afternoon hours.
• Do not leave any flammable materials inside vehicles.
• Do not leave children inside vehicles for any length of time.

Due to high temperatures continued into the evening, it is advised to drink lots of cold beverages throughout the night.
