A total of 19% of public schools do not meet the health regulations for social distancing, the Secretary General for Administrative Affairs in the Ministry of Education, Najwa Qubeilat, said during an interview with Roya’s Nabd Albalad program on Tuesday evening.

The National Committee for Epidemics is considering suspending school attendance and proceeding with distance learning, Qubeilat added.

She added distance learning will be implemented for students who live in isolated areas.

Private schools could go back to a normal teaching system because they meet the required health measures, and adhere to keeping one metre between each student, she added.

Schools will have sport classes if they adhere to the required social distance between each student, she added.

She added students will not be allowed to enter or leave the school at the same time.

The Ministry of Education is considering buying cloth masks for all students, she added.
