Jordan's airports are ready to resume regular flights but the decision to reopen airports depends on the local COVID-19 situation, said the head of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Haitham Misto, on Tuesday.

Jordan is actively discussing the resumption of regular flights and "risk must be calculated", he said.

The goal is to gradually bring back flights, while abiding by health and safety guidelines.

Destinations will include countries in which Jordanians are present and have a similar or better health situation than Jordan.

The government’s top priorities are the health and safety of citizens as well as expatriating Jordanians from abroad, said Misto.
