The Our Jordan is a Paradise programme for domestic tourism has been suspended due to the COVID-19 situation in Jordan, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Saturday.

An insider told Petra news agency the decision came after the government announced the likelihood of imposing a full lockdown on Friday in Amman, Zarqa and other governorates that record an increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases.

The programme was originally launched to promote domestic tourism in Jordan, after the tourism sector was affected by the coronavirus crisis.
