Five Al-Faisaly Sports Club team members have tested positive for coronavirus, an insider source told Roya on Thursday.

The Jordan Football Association (JFA) announced the suspension of all activities for 14 days, starting August 21, including their preparatory camp for their upcoming game with Al-Jazira Club in the professional league.

The decision was made in accordance with Defence Laws, to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The JFA said their main priority, as a union, is the safety of athletes and the local community.

The head of the Coronavirus Response Team at the Ministry of Health, Adnan Ishaq, said results for more than 30 samples, taken from other team and staff members, will come out on Friday.

All players with coronavirus were admitted to Prince Hamzah Hospital for treatment.

The rest of the team and staff members have been isolated until the results come out.

The source of infection is yet to be determined, said Ishaq.
