The city of Ramtha was hit by riots on Wednesday evening, as people took to the streets to protest the arrest of a person for violating Defence Order 11.

A number of people blocked a road in the city after police arrested their relative.

The Ramtha district has been isolated from other districts in Irbid and the Kingdom's governorates since Monday, with curfew hours extended from 8pm until 6am, as a result of an influx of new local COVID-19 cases.
