Ten Reform and Rehabilitation Center (RRC) inmates have successfully passed their Tawjihi exams, according to the Director of Public Security Hussein Al-Hawatmeh.

The RRC Department worked with the Ministry of Education to provide students with the suitable atmosphere they need to sit for the Jordanian high school exams. A total of 59 inmates from several RRCs sat for the exams, approximately 17% successfully passed and one inmate got an 80.2 average.

“This honor comes as appreciation for the inmates’ effort and determination and for their good intentions regarding self-development and walking down the right path,” said Hawatmeh.

Enabling inmates to complete their studies inside these centers is part of a new comprehensive reform policy that aims to equip them with the knowledge, tools and professional skills they need to function as valid and influential members of society upon their release.
