The reopening of Queen Alia International Airport to international commercial flights depends on the COVID-19 situation in Jordan, said the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission Chief Commissioner, Haitham Misto, on Tuesday.

August 18 may not be the date for the resumption of international flights, Misto added.

Jordan is continually updating its determinants of travel, he said, adding there are no restrictions preventing Jordanians and others from leaving the country, provided airlines are offering flights.

Jordan’s priority now is arranging flights for Jordanians who want to return to the country from abroad, and the fifth stage of returning Jordanians from abroad will start on August 15, Misto added.
