A new local case has been reported in Ma’an, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

The director of Ma’an Health Affairs Directorate, Amjad Abu Darwish, said the person had been infected at their workplace at the Jaber Border Crossing.

The person who tested positive for COVID-19 has been quarantined in the Dead Sea region.

Twenty-one swabs were taken from those who came in contact with the infected person in Ma'an and Shobak, and all those samples taken in Ma'an came back negative.

However, the results for samples taken in Shobak will be released on Tuesday.
