The Israeli occupation government has announced new restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19 as the death toll reached 600.

The restrictions were announced by the Ministry of Health after confirming four new deaths within 24 hours.

The number of cases in the occupied territories increased by 254 to reach 82,670 in total with 24,554 of them still active and 57,514 already cured.

This number represents a decrease compared to previous numbers, however this could be due to the reduction of COVID-19 tests being undertaken in the past day.

Furthermore, 394 of the confirmed cases are in critical condition; 118 of whom are on ventilators.

The new restrictions, related to institutional activities and citizens’ behaviour, are expected to be implemented from Tuesday, said the Ministerial Council for fighting the Covid-19 outbreak.

The new restrictions include citizens adhering to social distancing of at least two metres in public and private places, while limiting the number of people in outdoor areas to 20, and 10 indoors.
