The lawyer infected with COVID-19 in Irbid has provided details about his initial symptoms and the decision to isolate himself.

The lawyer told Roya he had a fever towards the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday, which led to him taking medication which made him feel better temporarily.

He reported himself to the Ministry of Health after losing his sense of smell on Thursday, and then isolated himself at home while waiting for his test result. It came back with a positive result.

The lawyer was transferred to Prince Hamza Hospital as soon as he had received the diagnosis, where he was isolated.

Addressing the rumours of his travel throughout Jordan, he confirmed a visit to the courthouse in Irbid, but denied travelling to Amman, Salt or Baqaa.

He added that the ‘Jaha’ – a traditional gathering of men for the purpose of a groom asking for a woman’s hand in marriage – did not exceed 20 members and was in accordance with public health and safety measures.
