All COVID-19 tests undertaken by people in Ramtha who came into direct contact with the infected lawyer in Irbid are negative, said Ali al-Zetawi, head of the Epidemiology Committee.

More than 70 tests came back negative for those who had been in contact with the lawyer during his participation in a Jaha – a traditional gathering of men for the purpose of a groom asking for a woman’s hand in marriage – and a social event in Ramtha.

Test results for the people who came into contact with the lawyer’s sister and her daughter will be published this afternoon.

Nearly 100 people who came into direct contact with the infected 60-year-old lady will receive their results today.

Al-Zetawi said testing is ongoing until the original sources are found.
