One of the three latest coronavirus cases is a midwife who works at Princess Badea Training Hospital in Irbid, the city’s head of the Epidemiology Committee, Ali al-Zetawi, told Roya on Saturday.

The number of people who were in direct contact with her while she was at work is estimated to be between 10 and 15, but people visiting the hospital who did not have direct contact with the midwife will also be tested, said al-Zetawi.

After testing has been completed, the hospital will be completely sterilised.

A lawyer in Irbid tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday and his sister – the midwife – and her 11-year-old daughter were also found to have the virus.

The lawyer’s sister and her daughter are in good health. They have been isolated, and are receiving treatment, said al-Zetawi.

All staff members at the Palace of Justice in Irbid will be tested for COVID-19 and the building will then be disinfected.
