Fifty percent of people who tested positive for coronavirus in Jordan did not show symptoms, said the spokesperson for the National Committee for Epidemics, Nazir Obeidat, on Thursday.

There are groups of patients who did not suffer from any symptoms upon diagnosis but signs appeared while receiving treatment.

This shows that the COVID-19 situation in Jordan is under control, he said.

The spread of the coronavirus inside the country is minimal and the spreading rate is close to zero, he added.

The case that appeared in Ramtha on Wednesday was not surprising considering how wide spread the virus is across the globe, said Obeidat.

He said the epidemic index in Jordan is good when looking at the number of randomized tests conducted, which target groups that may have contributed to spreading the virus.
