A total of 1,550 crimes against morals and public decency were reported in Jordan during 2019 -  5.84% of the total crimes - compared to 1,539 crimes during 2018, according to a report by the Criminal Information Department of the Public Security Directorate.

The assault crimes were the highest at 65.35%, followed by kidnappings at 11.61%, followed by rape at 11.10%.

Adultery crimes in Jordan accounted for 7.61%, followed by prostitution at 3.48%.

Abortion crimes were the lowest at 0.84%.

The crime rate per 10 thousand people of the population during 2019 was 25 crimes, compared to 24 crimes in 2018, according to the report.
