Jordan confirms 15 new COVID-19 cases, all from abroad

A total of 15 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Jordan on Saturday, bringing the total number to 1,208 since the start of the crisis.

Eleven cases involve people currently staying in hotel quarantine; three have travelled from Saudi Arabia, four have travelled from Syria, two have travelled from Bahrain, one from Qatar, and one from Iraq.

Four cases involve Jordanian truck drivers who have entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing.

Ten recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from Prince Hamzah Hospital on Saturday.

A total of 5,342 random tests were conducted today, bringing the total number conducted so far to 603,237.

The Ministry of Health reiterated the need to adhere to preventive measures, avoid gatherings of more than 20 people, wear facemasks, social distance, and use Aman and Sehtak mobile applications.
