The wife of the man who died as a result of the mass food poisoning incident has been admitted to the intensive care unit, announced the Balqa Forensic Medicine Director, Wael Hayasat, on Friday.

His daughter has also been poisoned after eating Shawarma from a restaurant in Ain Al-Basha but her condition is stable.

The man had visited the hospital more than once after being poisoned but his health deteriorated today leading to his death, Hayasat told Hala News.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s cause of death. 

Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, described the incident as tragic and said more than 800 people were effected, including children.
