A family of nine fell ill after drinking home-made Shanina, a savory yogurt drink, on Thursday night.

Four children were admitted to the hospital for observation but the rest were in good health, the director of Nadim Hospital, Ibrahim Al-Maayyah, told Roya.

The children are expected to recover and be discharged on Friday.
