There has been no conclusive decision as to how the new academic year in universities will be organised, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Higher Education Council is yet to make a decision on how the next year will be taught, but the council will issue its decision soon, said the spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education, Mohannad Al-Khatib, on Tuesday.
The academic year for public universities will start on September 29, and on October 15 for private universities, Al-Khatib said.
The minister said students will most likely return to study on campus next year.
However, it is a possibility that theoretical courses will be taught online to reduce overcrowding on campus.
