Authorities are still unclear how a doctor at Prince Al-Hussein Hospital came to be infected with COVID-19.

The infection was discovered on Thursday through random coronavirus testing of both staff and patients, the government said on Sunday.  

The doctor, who lives in an apartment building in Um Uthaina, Amman, did not show any symptoms.

“His health is very good, he does not suffer from any symptoms and he is receiving treatment,” said the Health Ministry's Assistant Secretary General for Healthcare Affairs, Adnan Ishaq.

Tracing teams are continuing to work to locate the source.
