An investigation has been launched after a cat was kidnapped and brutally raped in the east of Amman.

The cat’s owner said her pet, Alex, was kidnapped from the entrance to her house in Al Hashmi Al Shamali by an unknown person and was gone for several hours.

When Alex returned to the house, he was pouring with blood and was in extreme pain, his owner told Roya.

She took him to a vet where it was determined he had been assaulted and raped. He was given medication to relieve his pain.

Alex’s owner has spoken to her neighbours and is trying to locate CCTV footage in her bid to find the attacker, describing him as a “monster”.

If the perpetrator is able to be identified she intends to take legal action.

She said she fears for the safety of her daughters and neighbours after the incident.
