The Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, recommended the period of home quarantine be reduced to seven days once institutional quarantine has been completed.

He also recommended reopening changing rooms in retails shops, as well as jacuzzis in health centres and animal slaughter markets for Eid Al-Adha.

The minister spoke about the government’s strategy to reopen Jordan, explaining the three levels of classification given to countries based on their COVID-19 status; green, yellow and red, according to seven criteria.

Jaber added that a deterioration in the Kingdom’s COVID-19 status would be hugely detrimental to the economy, adding that the Minister of Finance has warned the country needs to return to being fully operational.
