Two brothers have been charged with murder after fatally shooting their mother.

Initial reports indicated one man had shot family members following a dispute in Ma’an on Thursday.

However, the latest information is that two men were charged on Saturday.

A source close to the family said one of the defendants fired gunshots after a fight between the two brothers and their father inside the house. Their mother was killed and their two sisters were seriously injured. They were taken to hospital for treatment. There is no further information regarding their condition at this time.

The source added that one of the defendants has previous drug convictions.

A spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate confirmed an investigation was underway into the death of a woman shot by her family members.
