Students in Jordan will return to school on August 10, the government announced Thursday.

In a bid to reduce the potential risk of spreading coronavirus among students, each class will be divided into two groups, enabling students to take lessons on alternate days.

Social distancing measures will be implemented and some activities which may lead to heavily populated gatherings will be avoided.

During a press conference on Thursday, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Nawaf Al-Ajarmah, said the ministry had created programmes aimed at tackling the gap in education caused by the coronavirus crisis.
