People in Jordan expressed frustration at the suspension of smartphone applications by the government during high school students' first Tawjihi exam on Wednesday morning, July 1.
Limiting communication apps such as WhatsApp and Instagram is not unusual practice during the Kingom’s exam period — it is done as a precautionary measure to prevent cheating and the leaking of exam questions.
The Ministry of Education coordinates with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Communication Authority to instruct telecommunication companies to suspend social media services for the duration of exams.
