Health and safety instructions for special education centres and centres for people with disabilities were being drafted Monday by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development and the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ahead of their reopening.
“The controls and instructions to be drafted are probably going to be similar to those set for the reopening of day-care centres,” Muhannad al-Azzeh, the Secretary General of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, told Roya.
He added the centre had received many complaints regarding the regression of disabled individuals’ progress over the quarantine period, especially those with mental health conditions. Rehabilitation centres had also not been able to provide full services.
The government is expected to complete the final draft by Wednesday.
