Worldwide COVID-19 death toll surpasses 485,000

The global coronavirus death toll has reached 485,294, according to the Worldmeter.

The number of deaths has doubled to 477,117 out of 9,263,853 cases in less than two months an AFP tally showed, said official sources on Wednesday, June 24.

Europe remains the most affected, with a total of 193,800 fatalities out of 2,557,761 infections.

However, the outbreak is accelerating in Latin America, where 100,378 have died out of 2,163,835 cases.
