A truck driver has surrendered himself to police this morning after having escaped the quarantine site for drivers coming from abroad through the Al-Omari Border Crossing.

A security source added that the driver surrendered himself after being pressured by the police to complete a 14-day quarantine.

The driver, who entered Jordan on Tuesday, June 16, left the quarantine on Thursday evening, June 18, without informing anyone. He used a private vehicle and headed to his house located in the eastern neighborhood of Irbid.

Immediately after the residents of the building where the driver lives saw him, they informed the competent authorities.
