The losses of the aviation sector in Jordan as a result of the coronavirus crisis and the suspension of flights and other transportation services have reached JD250 million, the former Minister of Transportation, Jamil Mujahid, said on Wednesday, June 17.

During an interview with Ro’ya, Mujahid confirmed that the transportation sector in Jordan was severely affected by the pandemic and the lockdown.

He stated that transportation in Jordan has been severely damaged, stressing that the government's measures won’t make up for the losses.

The former Minister noted that returning the work of the public transportation sector at a 50% capacity affects bus owners, companies and various transport vehicles.

He considered the government's decisions regarding the operational and transportation sectors were unclear.
