The epidemiological inspection teams at the Ministry of Health started on Tuesday, June 16, examining employees in the private and public sectors using PCR examination for detecting COVID-19.

The Director of the Department of Communicable Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Hadeel, Al-Saeh, said in a press statement on Tuesday that the procedure comes within the framework of the Ministry’s plans to expand COVID-19 tests and check on the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom to control any outbreak or spread of the virus, as the public and private sectors return to work.

Al-Saeh indicated that targeting the labor institutions in the public and private sectors to conduct these checks comes from its specificity in dealing directly and repeatedly with the public from different regions of the Kingdom.

She emphasized that the increase in the number of teams contributed to the increase in medical examinations to detect COVID-19, conducted by the Health Ministry to about 10,000 tests, indicating that the number of examinations exceeded the levels in force according to international standards.
