Day and irregular workers will receive a second payment of a government- and donation-funded cash welfare program next Sunday while the third and final payment of the program will be transferred in early July, the Director-General of the National Aid Fund, Omar Mashaqbeh, said on Wednesday, June 10.

He added that the total cost of the "Takaful 2" program, which the government launched in April in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, stands at JD29 million, indicating that JD10 million of the amount is provided by the government while JD19 million is provided by the Himmet Watan national donation program.

Under the program, a three-member day laborer household received JD136, while two-member and single-member families received JD70 and JD50 respectively, Mashaqbeh explained.

"About 230,000 families have received their first installments of the cash support, while the second payment will be transferred to their bank accounts next Sunday. They will be receiving the third installment in early July. The total number of remaining recipients is 20,000 and will be announced soon," he added.

To apply for the financial support, Mashaqbeh said daily workers can submit their applications on the Takaful website at https://reg.takmeely.jo, while those who have not previously applied can submit their requests at https://reg.takmeely.jo/Complaints.
