With three new coronavirus cases recorded in Palestine in the last 24 hours, the total number of cases has reached 654, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said one case was recorded in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shufat of a school teacher, while the second was in the Jericho district of a woman who contracted the disease from her sister who lives in the town of Rahat in southern Israel after visiting her.

The third case was recorded yesterday in the southern West Bank town of Dahriyeh of a 32-year-old man.

Alkaila said that efforts are underway to identify people who interacted with the infected cases in order to check them.

Of the 654 total in Palestine, 404 are in the West Bank, 70 in the Gaza Strip and 180 in occupied East Jerusalem. Of the total cases, 363 have recovered in the West Bank and two deaths, 41 in the Gaza Strip and one death, and 155 in East Jerusalem and two deaths.
