Saudi Arabia has extended tourist visas for 3 months free of charge, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday, May 27.

"The General Directorate of Passports has announced, in cooperation with the National Information Center, the extending of tourist visas automatically for a period of 3 months free of charge for the tourists whose visas expired during the period of suspension of international flights taken by the government as a precautionary measure to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," the Agency published.

The General Directorate of Passports stated that the extension is done automatically through the system without attending to the headquarters of the passports department in cooperation with the National Information Center.

The visa extension news comes as Saudi Arabia has started to ease restrictions on movement and travel that were put in place amid the spread of the coronavirus.
