The Ministry of Labor allowed expatriate workforce in the Kingdom to repatriate alongside their families for the second time, by registering on the platform (http://Hemayeh.jo) as of Sunday, May 24, for a month period.

On its goals, the decision was driven by the limited job opportunities triggered by the COVID-19 crisis, and the need to help Jordanian workers keep their jobs and employers to reduce the worker costs.

In a press statement issued on Monday, May 25, the Minister of Labor, Nidal Bataineh, said the expatriate workers who will register as well as their families are exempted from residency fines or any other sums, such as work permit fees, amid the crisis circumstances.

Migrant workers wishing to leave with their families can still collect their financial dues at the Social Security Corporation (SSC), the Minister pointed out.

Bataineh expressed hope the expatriate workers, who violate or hold expired permits, to benefit from these fee-waiving procedures after registering on the aforementioned platform, in light of the "humanitarian, social and global situation".
