The government decided on Monday, May 11, to ease the nationwide lockdown restrictions, allowing citizens to move using their vehicles or on foot from 8 am to 7 pm starting today.

The decision includes shops and businesses, which will also be offering services for customers until 7:00 pm, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh announced.

He added that businesses and enterprises will be expected to follow health safety guidelines and social distancing, stressing that the necessary action will be taken if any violations are committed.

The government also decided that the even-odd license plate policy will no longer be applicable to the public transport sector starting today and this includes buses, taxis and cars operating through ride-hailing applications, which must adhere to safety measures and take in only 50% of their passenger capacity.
