Restaurants and pastry shops have started to recover of the coronavirus hit after the recent government decision of work resumption, which allowed them to sell directly to people and extended the delivery hours during Ramadan, the food sector representative at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Raed Hamadeh said today.

In a statement, Hamadeh stated that allowing the sector to reopen after more than 40 days of closure greatly supports its resilience, especially for the small businesses in which most of the workers depend on daily wages.

"Amid the growing developments related to the global COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery requires re-opening all sectors and reducing economic burdens through the low-interest financing programs announced by the Central Bank of Jordan" he added.

Hamadeh stressed the employee’s keenness to fully abide to health regulations and instructions, in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
