Embassy of India provides assistance to Indian nationals in Jordan

The Embassy of India in Amman has provided assistance to Indian nationals stranded in Jordan amid the coronavirus outbreak. 

In a post on its Facebook official account, the Embassy said, "Embassy of India, Amman has continued to reach out to the members of the Indian community in Jordan including those stranded, in the ongoing COVID19 pandemic."

The Embassy added that it has regularly provided assistance by distributing packages of essential food items to the needy and stranded members of the Indian community in Jordan. However, the Embassy officials have been active in aggregating food and other assistance and channeled these in various parts of the city on regular intervals to needy the Indians currently stranded in Jordan during these difficult times.

"The Embassy of India in Jordan is actively working with the concerned authorities to address the other grievances brought to its notice," it confirmed.

For his part, the Indian Ambassador to Jordan, H.E. Anwar Haleem, stated that he would like to "reiterate all possible assistance and care to all Indians in Jordan by the Embassy of India in Amman in these difficult times when we need to stay united and work together, to defeat the coronavirus. With the support and guidance of Jordanian authorities and ongoing social distancing and lockdown in Jordan, we remain eternally hopeful that our lives will return to normal soon."
