The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced today that a Jordanian citizen has died in the United Arab Emirates after being infected with the novel coronavirus.

Ministry spokesman Daifallah Fayez said that the deceased was admitted to hospital 10 days ago after contracting the virus.

He added that the Jordanian consulate has been following on his health condition, which lately deteriorated leading to his death. He expressed his condolences to the deceased's family.
