An account set up by the Ministry of Social Development to receive donations that will be channeled to help vulnerable families amid the COVID-19 crisis in the Kingdom has collected a total of JD471,804 so far, a Ministry official said today.

Barq Dmour, the Ministry Secretary-General stated that the government has launched the "Al-Khair Account" (charity account) to receive cash donations directed to the social protection sector through bank transfers from inside and outside the Kingdom, or through eFAWATEERcom or any other available electronic payment service.

"The total amount of donations will be directed to support day workers who were financially affected by the impacts of coronavirus shutdown," he said, stressing that the data of the unified national registry at the National Aid Fund will be used to identify aid-targeted families.

"For all those wishing to donate, the Ministry has designated a bank account at the Central Bank of Jordan under the name (Al-Khair Account/Ministry of Social Development) No. (1/3100/220), with the IBAN (JO 77 CB JO 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 31 00 02 20).
