As Downtown Amman's pet shops were shut down following the curfew imposed on the Kingdom, many puppies, birds and cats have died as food has been cut off for days.

However, a pet shop owner in Downtown Amman has left his home in Sahab district, southeast of Amman just to feed the remaining puppies, birds and cats in his shop.

Speaking to Roya, the shop owner said: "I came from Sahab to Downtown Amman on foot just to feed the remaining puppies, birds and cats inside my shop."

He went back home and returned to the shop after a couple of days, where he found more poor pets dead due to the lack of food.

"This has prompted me to stay overnight in the shop just to take care of the poor pets," the man explained.

"We've been sleeping in the shop for five days. We just sneak into the shop because we're not allowed to open it," a worker at the shop mentioned.

"In the first time, nearly 125 birds were found dead, while in the second time, I found 80 birds dead," the shop owner said.

"We aren't opening the shop to make money or sell pets. We just want to feed the poor pets and take care of them," the worker said.
