King directs government to meet citizens' needs of foodstuff, monitor prices

His Majesty King Abdullah II has directed the government to meet citizens' foodstuff needs and monitor prices, in the framework of His Majesty's constant concern for the health and safety of citizens.

As he chaired a meeting of the National Policy Council via teleconference today to follow up on procedures to curb COVID-19, His Majesty stressed the need for the government to maintain conducting detection checks to ensure the citizens' safety.

His Majesty also instructed the government to ensure the continuity of work, with all readiness, during these exceptional circumstances to confront the epidemic and its effects on various sectors.

His Majesty stressed the importance of applying the law firmly to prevent violations in issuing curfew exceptions.
During the meeting, the King also listened to a briefing from the concerned parties on the progress of implementing the measures and the targeted instructions to confront the virus.

The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, Advisor to His Majesty and President of the National Policy Council.
