The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has decided to extend the bread distribution hours until 7:00 pm instead of 5:00 pm, in order to meet the needs of citizens in the various regions.
"We will be delivering bread today until 7:00 pm and this is what it will be like during the coming days until Friday so as to provide every home with bread," said media spokesman for GAM, Nasser Rahmanah.
However, Bakery Owners Association President AbduIlah Hamawi has announced today that the business hours are extended till 10:00 pm.
Earlier today, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq al-Hammouri, said that in coordination with the competent authorities, any bakery selling bread to citizens directly will be closed immediately, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

He added that "bakeries were provided with flour and were informed of the necessary measures to deliver bread to citizens within the mechanism, which everyone must adhere to in order to preserve their safety and the safety of others."
