The State Security Court (SSC) is considering the release of some prisoners detained over drug trafficking and money counterfeiting cases, in line with government measures taken to curb the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement issued today, the SSC said the measure aims at achieving the best interests of the inmates by ensuring they have access to the required health care during the current circumstances.

"The numbers of those released will be announced after completing the necessary procedures," the statement added.
