The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said today that its officers arrested a man for posting an audio recording claiming a coronavirus death in the city of Zarqa.

Spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said criminal police agents managed to identify the person who posted the recording that went viral, in which he claimed a death has occurred in the governorate.

He said that the suspect is under investigation, reiterating a warning against spreading rumors and fake news.

The spokesman urged verifying news before publication in this circumstance we are going through to counter the virus.
