Brazil's Christ the Redeemer statue was illuminated with flags in solidarity with countries affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Brazilian landmark, which overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro and is usually lit by bright white light, was lit up with the flags of countries that have reported cases of the virus, CNN reported.

"The message #praytogether was also projected onto the statue in different languages."

The giant statue of Jesus Christ, which stands nearly 100 feet tall, also showed images of the continents afflicted.
